No really he does. Kida's response to stress is very fight-or-flight panic, so Kazuki being able to just knock him back into reality is incredibly useful. On top of that Kida's just a hyperactive and affectionate person when he's happy (or faking happy) and having someone return that makes him feel really validated and comfortable! He likes goofing around and playful banter and they're on relatively equal footing there, so it's just very low tension and grounding for him!!

So he really likes Kazuki and wants to both be his friend and gain (keep??) his approval as a person!!

WELL LIKE KAZUKI SAID he doesn't think the times Masaomi's been happy and hyperactive is necessarily fake! It's just a different part of himself, he gets that. :|b And He appreciates that Masaomi is actually kind of a kindred spirit, because initially he was worried Mikado's best friend would dislike him... so he's relieved! And really incredibly happy that he seems to be doing something right by Masaomi, emotions wise, and how to deal with upset people and actually issues wise, since he's growing up and figuring his our and trying to be a jesus. It helps he identified with Masami a lot, enough to actually properly air a lot of his own feelings for once-- something he needed to.

He also wants to be great friends with Masaomi and support him somewhat selfishly, and hopes he and Mikado make up, and wants to keep being thought of as a great boyfriend for Mikado!! '^'

Kida fits in super well with Turq and he loves it there, tbh! There are no teammates he doesn't get along with! He's a bit baffled by Echo and she upsets him sometimes, but he still likes her, and everyone else he's talked to much is A+ in his book. He would honestly be happy just staying in the cabin and rolling all over everyone all the time.

That said he has that weird thing where he hyper-focuses on a very small list of people that he gets very close and clingy to. Within Turq that's Naoto and Tempest, both of whom he'd gladly just cuddle with forever and ever and also pick on. Lovingly.

Outside of turq that's Kazuki and then of course Mikado!!

With Mikado things are still kind of weird tho. The more Kida finds out who he is the more he's afraid that his friendship with Mikado is inevitably going to tie him to the underworld stuff he doesn't want to be a part of anymore. He's scared that he'll get reattached to him and then find out something terrible and be unable to extract himself. On the flip side he now remembers their childhood and he can't exactly stop himself from getting really upset and lonely when he tries to distance himself from Mikado and their relationship. So he's kind of conflicted and wishes he had a really good reason to call it off for his own safety, but at the same time he wants to just drop all the worrying and flop all over him. WARRING EMOTIONS. But after his talk with Kazuki he's decided that he doesn't want to hurt Mikado and have it turn out that he was worrying over nothing, so instead he's just going to go back to clinging and deal with the bad stuff if it comes.

HE DOES LOVE HER he's just a stick in the mud who can't express these things properly. I think the best way for him to communicate what he's trying to get at would be to explain his OWN issues but he doesn't want to. 8|a He might eventually though just because it's not fair for Rin to know and not Sakura, even if Rin only knows because of the deage event.

Admitting he's wrong is really hard for him though, because a lot of his confidence is based around careful planning and making the right decisions to make the most of his minimal talent. So like... when he has to admit a mistake it puts him way outside of his comfort zone and reminds him that he has no talent in the fist place! But he does care about his family, and Rin's kind of ruined his ability to just live in denial. Still, it's tough for him to get emotional enough to say "I'm sorry" or "I love you", so he just says "I was wrong" and hopes the rest is inferred.

I mean in a drama CD he was too embarrassed to ask Rin to come watch the sunset with him and Aoi so. 8|a He's kind of oddly shy in that regard. BUT HE CARES.
